Accelerate Your Safety Leadership Workshop
At the OPC, we understand that ensuring the safety of your workforce and the public is a top priority for your organisation. That’s why the OPC and Skilful Conversation have launched a new immersive workshop – Accelerate Your Safety Leadership, created to help you evaluate, test and importantly, generate actionable improvements to your safety leadership and safety performance in the workplace.
The workshop is designed for directors, managers and front-line employees who are responsible for safety-critical activities. The Accelerate Your Safety Leadership workshop aims to help you see your operational safety behaviours through a legal lens, which can help support significant safety performance improvements.
The workshop offers delegates a unique opportunity to:
- Critically, evaluate current safety practices from a legal perspective.
- Explore safety culture, behaviours, and safety leadership.
- Gain hands-on experience of what it may be like to give evidence in a court of law or at an inquiry.
- Reflect, re-focus and improve their own safety-critical responsibilities and leadership.
Accelerate Your Safety Leadership is jointly delivered by OPC psychologists and Cath Brown, barrister (non-practising) from Skilful Conversation. The facilitators bring a wealth of experience in safety culture, safety leadership, legal representation in court, training and development. This workshop bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It is a vehicle to help accelerate, review and improve your organisation’s safety performance.
What to expect:
- A hands-on, interactive session incorporating a business-specific case study and courtroom role play.
- Facilitated discussions to help identify actionable safety practice changes.
This unique, tried-and-tested workshop has been piloted with a national rail organisation. By the end of 2023, nearly 200 delegates will have attended it. So far, delegate feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
