    Description

Available on our Extranet online test and exercise system the GSJT is a Situational Judgement Test (SJT) designed to assess how your potential graduate employees are likely to respond in certain situations that they may face whilst working in a graduate role. Candidates are presented with a scenario that they may face at work in a graduate role along with four possible ways of responding to this scenario. They must then rank order the response options. This allows you to objectively assess how your candidates are likely to respond in a given work situation.

Here is an example of the type of scenario you will find in the GSJT:

    Example Situation

You have been seconded to a small administrative team that you have been managing for the last six months. As a result of your secondment you and the team have worked hard on making some key improvements to the way the team work. This has resulted in fewer customer complaints, higher productivity and lower employee absenteeism. The customer service manager has noticed the improvements and has singled you out for praise and has given you a gift of £100 as a thank you. What do you do?

    1. Share the praise and £100 gift with the administrative team by paying for an evening meal at a local restaurant.

    2. Correct the customer service manager that it was a team effort and not your sole achievement but keep the £100 gift for yourself.

    3. Praise and thank each member of the administrative team for their efforts and the successes achieved but keep the £100 gift for yourself.

    4. Keep the £100 gift for yourself as you were the manager but praise the administrative team and thank them for their efforts by bringing in some cakes to celebrate.
