Description
This test assesses an applicant's ability to read and understand basic written information. Applicants are presented with a number of short passages of bus related information that are similar to pieces of information which might be encountered within training or on the job. They must then answer questions based around these passages.
The BDVT is available in 3 languages on our online test and exercise platform Candela™ with norms for each language: English, Hindi and Arabic.

Example
When starting a service on a bus the driver must first check that the windscreen wipers are working correctly. Headlights, break lights and left & right indication lights should also be checked at the front and back of the bus. A colleague should help when checking the lights. These checks should also be signed off by the driver and supervisor on duty before the driver can leave for their duties.
If there are any faults then this should be reported to the supervisor and engineer. The engineer should give the driver an approximate time of repair and should inform the supervisor and driver of whether the bus is road worthy.
