Description
The PVRT assesses an individual's ability to understand and reason with fairly complex written information. The individual is presented with passages of written information similar in complexity to that which he/she might be expected to work with as a manager or professional. The individual is given statements based on each passage and is asked to decide, on the basis of the information in the passage, if the statement is true or false, or if it is not possible to be certain either way.
The test is ideal for managers and graduates who will have to work with and make business decisions from reports, communications and policies.
Here is an example of what you might see in the PVRT:
Example
Charity 10K Run
The Charity run for 'Your Community' took place on 20th and 21st July 2002. In total 1,300 people from the community took part to raise money to develop recreational grounds around the local area for children so they could socialise in a safer and cleaner area. The 10K run was a success with a total of £78,000 raised. This money will go towards brand new outdoor swings and slides to go in the local park with new soft playground flooring. A tennis court will be built alongside the park play area that will also have a football court big enough to play 5-a-side football. A huge thank you goes to Tina King and Sanj Davies for organising this successful event.
